The Psychic

The Psychic is a great example of how he earned that reputation. Written and Directed by Fulci, The Psychic is about a woman named Virginia (Jennifer O’Neill) who is a clairvoyant and is seeing visions of terror that she uses to help solve a murder.

This film is too hard to explain without giving anything away, but this film plays out like a lot of horror did in the ’70s. It’s a murder/mystery/thriller/suspense/horror film. The difference is Fulci, though. He has a unique way of directing that is usually pretty recognizable. Everything about the production was great, and it definitely holds a candle to some of our other favorites of his like City of the Living Dead. The cinematography really shines in this film, as it does in most of Fulci’s work. The deliberate camera zooms to emphasize an important moment, bright red blood, and other classic things you would expect from a Fulci film are prevalent.

Overall, we would definitely encourage you to check out The Psychic if you are a fan of Giallo films, Fulci films, or just fans of classic 70’s horror. The Psychic really has it all and they just don’t make films like Fulci made them anymore.
