Leprechaun 3

If you ever wondered what would happen if a murderous Leprechaun took a vacation to Las Vegas and immediately developed a gambling addiction, Leprechaun 3 is for you.

This third entry is a classic in its own right. Vegas is a perfect setting for a leprechaun looking for his gold. Sin City is a playground for greed, and the film leans hard into the idea that everyone is one bad wish away from a really bad day.

Warwick Davis (Willow, Star Wars) continues to carry the franchise on his back, delivering a performance that’s equal parts comedy and unhinged menace as usual.

The plot? A pawn shop owner makes the mistake of awakening the leprechaun via a gold coin, chaos ensues, and the gold inevitably changes hands about a dozen times. Every new owner gets exactly what they deserve, which usually involves body horror that only the leprechaun can produce. The film is essentially a series of vignettes loosely tied together by greed and bad decisions.

The characters are all degenerates, which fit right into the Vegas dynamic, as the employees of one of the casinos on the strip learn that this college student possess the magical coin the leprechaun is after. One of the best characters in a cheesy horror film to date has to be Fazio, who is an arrogant magician. He definitely steals the show in his scenes.

Speaking of body horror—this is where Leprechaun 3 quietly goes harder than expected. It’s grotesque, creative, and just cruel enough to anyone who has the Leprechaun’s gold to remind you that this franchise holds its own in the (slasher?) genre when it comes to gore and ‘90’s horror magic.

Leprechaun 3 is B-movie chaos through and through. The acting is questionable, the pacing stumbles, the jokes are hit-or-miss (mostly miss, but in the best way). And yet… it works. Not because it’s good in any traditional sense, but because it knows exactly what it is: gross, gory, stupid, and occasionally inspired.

There’s a charm here that polished horror lacks. The film isn’t an award winner, but it will entertain you with absurd kills, sleazy Vegas vibes, and sometimes that is all you really need.

Overall, Leprechaun 3 is stupidly fun, ridiculous, and weirdly satisfying if you’re in the right mood. It is the best in the series in our opinion. We definitely recommend this to horror fans into cheese, gore, and the wild ride that one Leprechaun goes on in the pursuit of his stolen gold.
